This stamp, designated "Bill of Lading" was in use from 1846 until 1875. This particular stamp is impressed upon a document concerning
the shipping of a box of books from London to Madeira in November 1872 on a vessel called "The Star of The East" - master: J.B.
Fritzwater. LETTER. Black ink on blue paper clearly and legibly written in French with a printed Heading "Transports" and
an address at 8, Austin Friars, London. Dated 10 January 1856. The writer requests details of food costs and mentions three vessels
including The City of Manchester and Sea Nymph. It is addressed to: Messrs Pastié frères, Marseilles. Folded and unsealed. Unstamped,
bearing six English and French postal marks. ACT OF PARLIAMENT 1840 To authorize the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to grant a Lease of the

Single-sided handbill 9" x 5½" portrait orientation printed in maroon and blue on white. Top left corner is missing, cutting two words but
meaning is clear. CABIN TICKET - BOOKER LINE LTD., from Demerara to Liverpool on S/S Amakura sailing about 13 April 1956.
Double- sided cabin ticket 6½" x ¾" numbered and bearing the company and British Guiana revenue stamps. Condition of Carriage on
reverse. EARLY COLOUR PRINT SCRAP Cut from a magazine and mounted on card. 8½" x ¾". c1858. Titled:
"Departure of The Princess Royal of England : now Imperial Princess of Germany." The illustration features a twin funnelled, three masted,
paddle steamer dressed overall and many skiffs carrying waving well wishers. NB: Victoria Adelaide Mary Louise, the Princess Royal
was the eldest child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and after her marriage became Crown Princess of Prussia and later (1888),
Her Imperial Majesty, Empress of Germany. She was the mother of Kaiser Wilhelm who was the German Emperor during the first
