COTTON CLOTH BALE LABELS. 1940s-1950s. A collection of twenty-two gummed labels formerly used for sticking on crates and bales of made up cotton cloth for export to the Middle and Far East. These very colourful shipping labels were still in use in the 1950's after which the Lancashire cotton spinning industry began its decline almost to extinction.
A typical size is 6" x 8". Condition: as new.
